Nobel Prize in 2011, the Nobel Prize for Medicine was awarded to Ralph Steinman as he was the very first person to describe dendritic cells. Dr. Gorter and his team, in collaboration with the Universities of Göttingen and Vienna, played a major role in developing dendritic cells and their clinical applications. Dr. Gorter conducted clinical research and applied successfully dendritic cells consequently in cancer patients since 2000.
